Clyde, Avon and Nethan Foodbank Update

9th June 2019

 Thank you

We couldn’t believe our eyes after the Tesco Collection in December 2018. We got even more food than usual which has kept us very well stocked for most items. Previously we have said how amazed we are at the generosity of the public at large but this time we were completely gob smacked!! A huge thank you to all the customers at Tesco in Lesmahagow and, in particular, to the local travelling community who were participating in a UK wide supermarket challenge and chose to donate their shopping to our foodbank.

We must also thank customers at the Co-op and Asda in Larkhall and Sainsbury’s in Strathaven for  donating to the trolleys in these stores on a regular basis. A thank you must also go to all those adults, children, local businesses and organisations who have chosen to make individual donations as well as to primary schools, including Craigbank in Larkhall, St. John’s in Blackwood and Newfield in Stonehouse which donated Easter Eggs enabling the foodbank to include them with shopping.

Volunteers

Of course the foodbank could not operate without our wonderful volunteers who kindly give their time on a regular basis to carry out the various tasks required to keep the foodbank running smoothly. A big thank you to all of them.

We pray that God will bless you all – both those who give and those who receive.
